H.E. Dr. Nabeel Mohammed Al-Amudi
Minister of Transportation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
His Excellency Dr.Nabeel Mohammed Al-Amudi serves as the Minister of Transport for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, appointed by the Royal Decree in October 2017. Previously, His Excellency Al-Amudi was the chairman of the United Arab Shipping company and Tabadul as well as the President of the Saudi Ports Authority (SPA) responsible for the strategic direction of port and shipping facilities to meet the Kingdom's present and forecasted future needs. His Excellency Al-Amudi is currently the chairman of the Saudi Railway Company.
Prior to these appointments, His Excellency Al-Amudi's distinguished career with the state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco placed him in key roles as the organization transformed into a fully-integrated, global energy and chemicals enterprise. He joined Saudi Aramco in 1995 and held a series of positions progressing through various areas of the company within the Kingdom.
His Excellency Al-Amudi was appointed Associate General Counsel of Aramco Services Company (ASC), Saudi Aramco's United States subsidiary in May 2011 where he oversaw all legal affairs in the Western Hemisphere for ASC and its subsidiaries. In November 2012, he was named President of Saudi Refining, Inc. (SRI), a subsidiary of ASC headquartered in Houston, Texas. SRI is responsible for Saudi Aramco's downstream investments in North America. This includes ownership of Houston-based Motiva Enterprises LLC, a leading refiner, distributer and marketer of petroleum products throughout the United States.
In addition to his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, earned with distinction in 1995, he received a JD (Juris Doctorate) from Harvard Law School in 2001.
His Excellency Al-Amudi is a graduate of Stanford's Graduate School of Business Executive Program and is a member of New York State Bar Association. His Excellency Al-Amudi is involved in many professional and civic activities, including: member of the Advisory Board of Dhahran Ahliyya Schools in Dahran, Saudi Arabia, member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Global Business Studies at Penn State University's Smeal College of Business, and a member of the Executive Committee for the Harvard Law School Association of Arabia.
His Excellency Al-Amudi was elected as a Young Global Leader in 2014 by the World Economic Forum.
